They sneer: what are you doing?
Listen dear, let me tell you a story...
It didn't start with Adam
It began with Lilith
The First Queen of the Universe
The One who said "no"
The creature of Gaia
Daughter of Mother Earth
She wasn't made from a rib
but from Love
Like Her brothers and sisters
The two-legged and the four-legged
Those who dwell upon the Land
Those who frolic in the Water
The winged riders of the Wind
She is a child of the Stars
Dust to dust
As above so below
She was born from Gaia's Womb and
Knew the Sublime she held in her own
The Holy Body of Women
Lilith refused to surrender her Soul
Thus sanctified for us all her
Divine Energy
From this, let me tell you...
My church has no doors
My altar lays on my skin
My prayers chant with the rustle of leaves
I worship the Moon, the Sun and all Cosmic Bodies
The Powers of Land, Water, Air and Blood
Magic
I honor and respect my siblings
Those who crawl, stand, fly, buzz, glide and swim
I adore my Mothers, Sisters, daughters
Our breasts sacred shrines
Our hair hallowed rosaries
The contraction of our Uterus, our gospel
We wrote our Scriptures with the ashes of the Witches you burnt
And still write with the blood of those you rape
The miracle resides in our resiliency
Our arms always open
Our bellies still carry
My Religion is my potency
From my bosom your Gods fed
Magic flows through directly from the Universe
to my veins
I am nothing but a speck of dust
Yet
The Universe was made for me
As I amble into the Forest,
embracing trees, talking to crows
My hands dirty
Nails covered in soil
My dear, I answer, this is my religion
And I am dancing to the Rythm of the Song of Life.
